FAQ

Depending on which course you want to enroll in, we may ask you a few questions about your level of experience and existing audio knowledge. This will help us to better suit your needs and depending on the results of your questionnaire, maybe we'll point you to a more rudimentary course or to a more advanced one.
Yes, definitely, for sure. You will need to own and have regular access to the following:
A functional Apple computer running MacOS "Mojave" (10.14) or later with at least 6GB RAM
A USB-C/Thunderbolt external storage hard drive that connects to your computer with at least 100GB of free space available
Apple Logic Pro X v10.7.4 or later, installed and working
A USB microphone that can connect to your computer
High quality, studio grade headphones that can connect to your computer's headphone jack.
A high speed internet connection
An old school paper notebook and pens!!!!
It is not required but highly recommended that you also own:
A high quality audio interface
At least one professional quality microphone
A USB keyboard controller
High quality studio loudspeakers
All cables to connect everything
Learn at The Lab provides NONE of these things for you.
If you don't own own any of the listed things, well then you're definitely in the right place to learn how to begin! We'll be more than happy to consult with you on what you need to get and will start you from the ground up with a short window of opportunity for you to acquire what you need before you'll actually need it to progress forward.
With the way our courses are structured, it wouldn't make sense to enroll in more than one full course at any given time. If you want to take a longer, deeper dive into the world of audio production, we will set up a meeting with you and build a specific curriculum that would be suitable for what you want to learn about.
However!! Once they are available and happening, you can certainly enroll in our workshops at the same time you're taking a course! In fact, that would be recommended as the workshops will inevitably reinforce your course knowledge.
Certain discounts may apply to workshops if you are actively enrolled in or have already completed a full course.
No, we are not an accredited institution. Learn at The Lab is hosted by a small private recording facility's owner and offers private, one-on-one audio production lessons and training as well as limited weekend workshops.
